Atlas is local-first. Your financial data stays on your device unless you choose optional iCloud sync. Atlas does not operate servers for core features and does not sell your information.
Atlas does not require an account. We do not collect, receive, or have access to the financial information you enter โ account balances, transactions, bills, debts, goals, or your name โ unless you contact us by email.
Atlas is free to download and use. An optional Atlas Premium subscription (monthly or yearly) unlocks extra tools. Apple handles every purchase: we never see or store your payment details or Apple ID, and Atlas only checks on your device whether a subscription is active. People who were already using Atlas before Premium launched keep Premium at no cost. Bank sync is part of the paid subscription and is optional; accounts, bills, and activity can always be added manually or by CSV import.
If you connect a bank, you sign in on a screen run by Plaid Inc., a company that connects apps to banks. Atlas never sees or stores your bank username or password. Plaid sends your account names, balances and recent transactions to Atlas's relay service, which passes them to your device. The relay keeps a Plaid connection key for each bank so it can refresh your data, and holds recent transactions for no more than 15 minutes before they are deleted. Your transactions are stored on your device, not on the relay.
To prove your subscription, Atlas sends Apple's signed subscription record to the relay. It identifies the subscription, not you, and contains no name or email.
We disconnect your banks when you unlink them, when you choose Disconnect all, three days after your subscription ends, or if you do not open Atlas for 45 days. You can connect up to two banks. Plaid's use of your data is described in Plaid's privacy policy.
If you add a profile photo, it is saved only on your device (and in your iCloud container if sync is enabled). It is never uploaded to Atlas.
Delete all data anytime from Settings โ Delete All Data, or by deleting the app. Turning off iCloud sync stops new sync; remove iCloud data from your Apple ID settings if needed.
Optional app lock uses Apple's LocalAuthentication framework entirely on your device. Atlas never receives or stores biometric data.
Bill and cash-flow alerts are optional local notifications scheduled on your device. No server is involved.
Atlas does not use advertising SDKs, IDFA, or cross-app tracking. If you explicitly enable Anonymous product analytics, Atlas uses PostHog to receive limited product events for activation and returning use. Events are grouped by an anonymous app-install identifier and may include the app version and a non-identifying campaign label.
Analytics events do not include names, email addresses, account identifiers, paycheck amounts, pay dates, bill names, due dates, balances, transactions, bank information, or other financial content. Analytics are optional and can be turned off in Settings.
Atlas is not directed at children under 13.
